KRC Genk Talent

KRC Genk Talent is renowned as a leading youth academy in Belgium, with a rich history dating back to the merger of KFC Winterslag and Thor Waterschei in 1988. Under the leadership of Paul Heylen, the youth department embarked on a successful journey, highlighted by the opening of the new youth complex, the Jos Vaessen Talent Academy, in 2002.

This modern complex offers facilities such as a fitness center, rehabilitation pool, medical facilities, and study and relaxation areas, setting KRC Genk apart in the development of young talent.

KRC Genk is proud of its five championship titles in the 2018–2019 season (U15, U16, U18, U21, and first team) and its participation in the UEFA Youth League, including legendary victories against Napoli and Liverpool. Investments in artificial turf pitches in 2012 and 2021 have further enhanced training opportunities for all youth players, regardless of weather conditions.
