Stadion De Taeye is located at Pannenstraat 282 in Heist-aan-Zee (municipality of Knokke-Heist), Belgium. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 8,000 spectators, features a natural grass pitch, and is equipped with floodlights — but it has no athletics track or under-soil heating.
It is primarily used by KFC Heist, a club competing in the lower tiers of Belgian football (the third national level/”Eerste Afdeling VV”). In the past, the stadium also temporarily served as the home ground for Royal Knokke FC during construction work on their own facilities.
Current Renovation and Future Plans
Most of the infrastructure dates back to the 1960s and is clearly outdated. According to the municipality of Knokke-Heist, a major renovation of the complex is currently underway. The goal is to transform the enclosed sports stadium into a sustainable and open sports park. The new design includes:
A central canteen on the ground floor
Showers, dressing rooms, and sanitary facilities
A multifunctional hall and storage space
A covered grandstand
Facilities for the municipal green department
The current redevelopment budget is approximately €3,610,000. The design process is expected to begin by the end of 2025, with a final plan ready around January 2026.
